Osun Assembly Member, Arc. Babatunde Desmond Ojo Donates PPE And Cash To Constituents To Stock Up During COVID 19 Lockdown

Beyond the usual norm of food items distribution, Arc. Babatunde Desmond Ojo has within the last one week given out cash gifts to over 100 households and various families across all the 12 Wards of the State Constituency to cushion the effect of Covid 19 lockdown.

In a statement released in Osogbo, The honourable member who represents Oriade State Constituency at the State of Osun House of Assembly has also ensured the distribution of Personal Protective Equipments PPEs and relief materials in the last few days before and during the lockdown.

The honourable noted that ‘We shared free items such as face masks, alcohol – based hand sanitizers and advocacy on Timsed 94.1.FM Radio concerning the virus to our people across all the Wards of Oriade State Constituency’. He added that with the little resources available, he will continue to do more as we have the capacity.

He however also commended the pro – active efforts of the Executive Arm as led by the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola in handling matters and pushing forward specific palliative measures even in this lockdown with the creation of a 21-Man Committee of eminent Osun indigenes in order to support the state.

It is visible that this is beyond Government as there is the great need for everyone even in the Private Sector to play their part and donate towards the sustenance of the good health and welfare of the people. I will be grateful for supports which can be monetary so as to stock up with cash beyond the usual Rice, Beans, Semo, Garri, Yam and other essentials for onward transmission to my people in Oriade.

At the moment, donations as little as N5,000 can make a whole lot of difference. This is the time for anyone and everyone who has, to extend the benevolence to his or her neighbours and be our brother’s keeper. In the coming days, we will perfect the modalities of the distribution of more relief materials even in the lockdown.

‘I also humbly ask that our youthful friends and online commentators be cautious and civil at the moment as it is a trying time for us all; it is not the time to play petty politics with the lives of our people. Let’s continue to show humanity. Again, this time will pass’, he concluded.

Eyin Omo Iya Mi L’Oriade, M’owa Pelu Yin!
